Right to life

It goes without saying that States should not execute children (or anyone else).

But they should also put measures in place to allow children to survive into adulthood in conditions optimal for their development, including through combating child mortality, and providing healthcare, nutrition, sanitation and drinking water.

In addition, States should actively protect children from harmful traditional practices such as early marriage, and ensure accountability for violations of their right to life when they occur.
