Further resources

There are some excellent blogs out there giving survivors a voice, sharing stories and experiences and messages of hope. Below are just some examples. Email us if you know of more or use #HolySeeConfess.

  • Voiceless victim: One survivor speaking out. Like others, despite reporting abuse, she has never received justice. Updated regularly, the blog features resources and advice for other survivors.
  • AnnFreeSpirit: A mix of stories, commentaries and news from all over the world. She is a survivor, and also has a section for survivor stories.
  • The Lantern Project: A survivor’s network, has a blog where you register to read and contribute.
  • Stop Church Child Abuse: A UK campaign to stop child abuse in the clergy, has a blog and also a place where people can post messages of support.
  • Former monk and whistle blower, Patrick J. Wall, shares his stories and thoughts.
  • BishopAccountability: A huge site that monitors news about abuse in the Catholic Church, includes a forum for survivors. Official evidence reports (chilling to read) have been collated to create a historical narrative of the abuse.
  • SNAP has a news blog which is updated regularly, mainly with stories from the US.
  • The Worthy Adversary is a blog run by the Western Director of SNAP, a survivor and now activist, giving regular updates on abuse stores.
  • Voice from the Desert is a blog and survivors’ network which operates as a general news source about alleged abuse and cover ups.
