The Future of the Child Rights Caucus - a Discussion Paper

At the last prepcom, questions were raised about the future of
the Caucus after the Special Session, and whether or not it would
continue functioning. Attached, please find a discussion paper
prepared by the coordinating group outlining issues that need to
be considered, as well as three options for the Caucus:
1) continuing on as an independent entity;
2) Merging with an existing international child rights network;
and,
3) Disbanding after the Special Session.

The coordinating group welcomes your comments on this paper
and the options outlined. Please send these to Jo Becker
([email protected]) and Bill Bell ([email protected]) by February
1, 2002, and they will be collated and circulated to the entire
Caucus to inform the Caucus’ discussion at the Special Session in
May.
