last ten years. Against this background the key issues of child
labour and child soldiers are examined highlighting some of the
practical
difficulties in implementing the Convention.
IN 25 countries the domestic situation for children in the member
countries of the International Save the Children Alliance is examined
under four key areas
Sexual exploitation
Juvenile Justice
Displacement
Education
The reality of children's rights is set against the rhetoric of the
Convention identifying general trends which provide a basis for
action to bring about positive change so to improve children's lives
Governments and the wider civil society are called to recognise their
collective responsibilities and work hand in hand to promote and
protect children's rights creating a world where children are truly
seen and heard
