CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Report on the status of the right to education

[March 2015] - The Resolution A/RES/69/157 entitled “Rights of the Child”, adopted by the General Assembly in December 2014, requests the Secretary-General to submit to the General Assembly at its seventieth session a comprehensive report on the rights of the child containing information on the status of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the issues addressed in the present resolution, with a focus on the right to education.

To assist in the preparation of the report by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), interested organisations and individuals are invited to kindly submit relevant information on the priority theme of the resolution mentioned above, to Ms. Changu Mannathoko.

The deadline for submissions is 2 April 2015. In light of the 8,500 word limitation for reports of the Secretary-General to intergovernmental bodies, it would be appreciated if the responses could be as concise as possible (preferably no more than one page).

Please note that these reports are hosted by CRIN as a resource for Child Rights campaigners, researchers and other interested parties.
