The decisions taken by European policymakers affect millions of children all over the world. Children might be still too young to vote but their voices count too! To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), Plan will gather children and young people’s voices over a period of one year and share them with European politicians. This campaign highlights the importance of listening to children’s voices and shares what children are calling for as their priorities for the European Union.
With the platform I have a voice! young people up to 18 years from all over the world can tell the European policymakers what they expect them to do for children’s rights.
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the UNCRC Plan Europe will organise a Child Rights Week between the 16 and 20 of November in the European Parliament. In that context, the website I have a voice! will be officially launched on the 17th of November: The first 20,000 voices will be printed out and handed over as a petition on children’s rights to the Parliament.
