A manifesto for Scotland's children and young people Scotland's
children are its future, and in this manifesto, Children in Scotland
urges all political parties to face the challenge of making sure the
needs of children, young people and their families are recognised and
addressed as we move towards the millenium.
The manifesto, organised as a set of themed factsheets sets out ways
in which government can ensure that the needs and aspirations of
Scotland's children, young people and their families are addressed.
It has been drawn up by Children in Scotland in consultation with its
member organisations, who include the majority of Scotland's new
councils, all the major voluntary children's agencies, professional
associations, academic institutions and a range of locally-based
community groups and service
providers. The factsheets cover:

Strategy, structures, legislation
Supporting families
Recognising diversity and promoting equal opportunities
Supporting children and families in the early years
Preparing for adult life

Also included is a separately published Special Needs Manifesto, and
an Executive Summary.
