Children in Scotland is the national
agency for voluntary , statutory and
professional organisations and
individuals working with children and
their famlies in Scotland. The aims of Children in Scotland are
To promote and enable the
exchange of information on all
matters relating to Scotland's
children and their families between
practitioners , policymakers ,
politicians and the media
To promote the development of
policies which will improve the quality
of life for Scotland's children and
their families, to facilitate practice
development in the services they
use, and to press for adequate
levels of these services and other
provisions
To promote awarness of specific
concerns and contributions of
voluntary organisations working with
children and their families , as well as
those concerns which are shared
with other sectors.
Primary areas of work:
Practice development - Children in
Scotland provides a range of training
and other initiative to assist in
improving the quality and
effectiveness of services for children
and their families.
Special needs - Children in Scotland
promote a collaborative multi-
disciplinary approach to the
development and improvement of
services and polices for children and
young people with disablities/special
needs.
HIV and AIDS - Children in need aims
to promote a wider awareness of the
needs of children and familes
affected by HIV and AIDS , and to
provide up to date information for
those working with them.
Early Years - Early years aims to
raise awareness of the needs of
young children and their families in
