Summary: This report summarises the status of children's rights of Cuba before the Inter-American human rights system.
Cuba is a member of the Organization of American States (OAS) but was excluded from participating between 21 January 1962 and 3 June 2009 as a result of tensions of the Castro regime with the United States and some other countries who were persuaded to vote for Cuba's suspension. The Inter-American Commission is an autonomous body of the OAS which monitors Member States' compliance with their obligations under regional human rights conventions.
