Childwatch International is a nonprofit, non-governmental network of institutions involved in research for children. The core members of Childwatch International are the Key Institutions. They are committed to child research with an interdisciplinary approach, and within the framework of international cooperation. The projects of Childwatch International are based on the comparative advantage of networking and on the common interests in research efforts with a global scope. The idea of carrying out research projects within the network is that it provides an opportunity to carry out projects that the Key Institutions could not do without Childwatch International. The role of the network is to promote research related to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and facilitate research generated knowledge of global relevance on children's lives and on childhood. The role is to service the research community and policy makers by providing relevant and reliable information based on research on children. It aims to initiate and coordinate research and information projects on children's living conditions and the implementation on children's rights as expressed in the UN Convention.CWI
