The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is inviting submissions on the subject of birth registration in preparation for an upcoming report. In March 2013 the Human Rights Council requested the OHCHR to prepare a report on the legal, administrative, economic and physical barriers to access to universal birth registration and possession of documentary proof of birth. The report will also contain good practices adopted by States in fulfilling their obligation to ensure birth registration. Who should contribute The OHCHR invites UN Member States, UN agencies, funds and programmes, NGOs, and other relevant actors to contribute information on any issue they consider relevant to the subject. In particular, the OHCHR welcomes views and information in relation to the following: Sending submissions Submissions should not exceed five pages.
