Children's Alternative Report to the UNCRC

The report reflects children’s views on the implementation of CRC in India. It is a result of consultations held with socio-economically deprived children from nine States. It tries to follow the format of the Government of India’s report to the CRC Committee. Children’s views are captured on different issues i.e., definition of the child;  the principles of best interest of the child, non-discrimination, the right to life survival and development, and respect for views of child; civil rights and freedoms; family environment and alternative care, basic health and welfare, education, leisure and cultural activities; and special protection measures.
