VIOLENCE: New briefing on corporal punishment of children with disabilities

Children with disabilities are especially vulnerable to corporal punishment in the home, at school, in institutional settings and elsewhere. Like other children, they have an absolute right to protection from all corporal punishment in law and practice.

A new briefing from the Global Initiative highlights the importance of prohibiting corporal punishment for children with disabilities, summarises research on the topic and urges those working for the rights of people with disabilities to incorporate the issue into their work.
