Victims of Violent Juvenile Crime

Summary: The Bulletin, which reflects the
experience of 667,679 victims,
examines characteristics of victims
and offenders, types of offenses, use
of guns, and injuries. The authors
note that juvenile offenders are
involved in about one-fifth of all
nonfatal violent victimizations. Most
victims of juvenile violence are
themselves juveniles, and nearly all
victims know the offender.
