Mediators and specialised children's rights mechanisms exist in a number of Swiss cantons, but the Committee on the Rights of the Child raised concern in its 2002 Concluding Observations that there was no central independent mechanism to monitor the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child or to receive and address individual complaints from children.
