Regional Report: Middle East and North Africa Region

Summary: This report is prepared as part of the UN study
on violence against children.
The objective is to examine the phenomenon of violence in the Middle East
and North Africa Region, its different forms, its causes, and its impact on
children. The report also aims at identifying the necessary measures for
eradicating this phenomenon and the responsible actors, including children
themselves, in protecting themselves from exposure to violence. The study
will feed into the in-depth research carried out by the UN Secretary General
concerning violence against children upon the recommendation of the UN
General Assembly in its resolution no. 57/190.
