Children's Ombudsperson

The Office of the Ombudsman for Children, responsible for monitoring children’s rights throughout Poland, was established in 2000. In 2010, Polish legislation was amended to extend the scope of the Ombudsman’s competences. As a result, he or she has the right, to participate in proceedings on constitutional complaints concerning children’s rights that have been lodged with the Constitutional Court; to file a cassation against a final and binding court judgment and to participate in pending juvenile proceedings.
