PAKISTAN: Children's Ombudsperson

Summary: Information about institutions in Pakistan that monitor children's rights.

Children's Ombudsperson

While general ombudspersons offices do exist at the federal and provincial levels, ombudspersons for children have not yet been set up despite the Government's stated intention to do so. As such, the Committee on the Rights of the Child has continued to “reiterate[ ] its concern at the lack of an independent monitoring structure with a mandate to regularly evaluate progress in the implementation of the Convention.”
