MONGOLIA: Children's Ombudsperson

Summary: Information about institutions in Mongolia that monitor children's rights.

Children's Ombudsperson

Though Mongolia's National Human Rights Commission includes a Commissioner with a mandate to cover children's issues, the Committee on the Rights of the Child has expressed concern that children cannot lodge complaints themselves. The Committee recommended reforms so as to render the NHRC more accessible and child-friendly, as well as developing the organisation's authority to enable it to seek remedies for violations.
