LATIN AMERICA: The Worst Forms of Child Labour in Latin America - Identification and Policy Options

This report presents the main findings from 3 country reports: Guatemala, Bolivia and Peru. Research indicates that most NGOs work with children who perform light activities, only a few hours a day, and actually tolerated under ILO convention 182. This relative absence of action is paralleled by a lack of information. Vast sectors are structurally overlooked and understudied. Qualitative material is very poor, excluding the perspectives of the child labourers and their parents. This research hopes to contribute to existing information and policy making in the field of child protection.Owner: International Research on Working Children - IREWOCpdf: http://www.crin.org/docs/IREWOC_Worst Forms LA_Final_16May2008.pdf
