Katcha children: a quintessence of child abuse

Summary: From May 2005, we volunteered our services to assist a community with high infant and childhood deaths, high maternal mortality rates and ratios and low immunisation and child health care services, which were as a result of abence of qualified medical professionals in the district.

On arrival, we commenced a prospective study on child health indices. Attached is the outcome of the findings of the first 6 months.

We are still in the community and will be dis-engaging our services in April - after 12 months of uninterrupted services. We funded the project from internally gener
