The latest edition of the Global Initiative’s popular leaflet summarising progress towards universal prohibition of corporal punishment is now available.
'Prohibiting all corporal punishment of children: progress and delay' lists on the one hand the 44 states which have now prohibited all corporal punishment and the 48 states where governments are committed to law reform, and on the other the 22 states where corporal punishment is not fully protected in any setting and the 37 states where caning, flogging and/or whipping is still lawful as a criminal sentence for juveniles. With a host of other facts, figures and graphics, the leaflet is proving to be an invaluable tool in advocating for this most fundamental law reform.
