Concluding Observations of the African Commission on the seventh and eighth periodic report of the Arab Republic of Egypt

The Commission raised concerns about:

  • the lack of information about child labour, early marriages and efforts to address these issues. (Paragraph 13)

The Commission recommended that Egypt

  • withdraw its reservations on the African Charter, particularly those on the equality of women, and address the continued rise in Female Genital Mutilation . (Paragraph 25)
