This book is an updated and expanded edition of the report by the
same name, which was commissioned by the UN-Study on the Impact of
Armed Conflict on Children - the Machel Study. The additions include
a chapter about the ""global picture"" as well as statistics and
photographs. This unique report is based on case studies from 26
