Children's Ombudsperson

Bhutan has a complaints mechanism for children through the National Commission for Women and Children (NCWC), but no independent national human rights institution exists within the country to monitor and promote the CRC. The Committee on the Rights of the Child has recommended that the State establish such a body in full compliance with the Paris Principles, ensuring that the organisation is accessible to children and that it is empowered to investigate complaints made by or on behalf of children.
