No More Denial calls on the UN Security Council to move swiftly to protect the tens of thousands of children in Myanmar who are raped, abducted and recruited as soldiers by the Myanmar armed forces and non-state armed groups. This new report is released this week to mark the first anniversary of devastating Cyclone Nargis that hit Myanmar in May 2008 and to draw urgent attention to the plight of children in Myanmar who have been subject to heinous violations of their rights every day since the Cyclone and for decades prior. The report’s release also coincides with the UN Secretary-General’s preparation of his new report on children and armed conflict in Myanmar soon to be delivered to the Security Council. No More Denial documents killing and maiming of children, child soldiering, rape, abduction, forced displacement, attacks on schools, denial of humanitarian access and other violations. It also charges the UN Security Council with remaining largely silent despite growing evidence from UN and local sources of these violations.
