Udisha, a society for education, employment & sustainable development

UDISHA, NGO is a voluntary, non-political and social organisation registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860 by Govt. of Delhi. It is a conglomeration of professionals, civil servants, child psychologists/ counselors, educationists, social activists and environmentalists. It is involved in multifarious activities like sustainable development, environment, adult literacy, child rights, youth employment, training and development. Udisha has been granted special consultative status with Economic & Social Commission of the United Nations since 2007.

The aims and purposes of the organisation are the following:

To establish an apex organisation for multifarious activities for upliftment of the society like, promotion of art and culture, development of education and employment

To promote health care by development in the field of medi-care and organising health and hygiene camps

To promote environmental education in schools through preventive strategies for environmental degradation and energy conservation

To work for all-round development of children, youth, women and downtrodden sections of the society

To make efforts to raise awareness amongst children and women against social crimes like child abuse, child labor, eve teasing (public sexual harassment, street harassment or molestation of women by men) and rape etc.  Also to sensitize and train them for self defence.
