Stepping Stones Nigeria upholds and defends child rights in the Niger Delta. . We work closely with our Nigerian partners to save and transform the lives of disadvantaged and stigmatised children, support effective education, and advocate for a greater understanding of child rights. SSN promotes and defends the right for children to be free from violence, abuse and neglect in the Niger Delta. In particular, its work with street children and children who have been accused of witchcraft has been a key theme since its inception in 2005.
SSN also considers education to be a fundamental human right that enables children to realise other rights and fulfil their potential. It is a powerful tool in the fight against discrimination and stigmatisation. It can help to put an end to poverty, disease and suffering. Education therefore plays a key role in improving lives and enhancing the opportunities of individuals, families, communities and nations.
