Nomadic Heritage Aid

NOHA is a local NGO based in Northern Kenya, a marginal area. Northern Kenya is an aridland. It has the lowest school enrolment in Kenya and at one time had the lowest girls enrolment globally. NOHA aims to address education as a child right and is currently piloting a mobile school concept in its project area through the support of EMACK, a project of Aga Khan Foundation. A total of 12 children have transitted from a nomadic pastoralist setting to a boarding school in a year's period.it has also domesticated the UNCRC by relating it to the rights of the child in Islam. The UNCRC is no longer veiwed with suspicion. Noha has also trained the children area advisory council in its project on child rights bringing relevant stakeholders together.NOHA
