Around 100 organisations and initiatives active on the national level across Germany and focusing on a range of social concerns have joined the National Coalition. Our declared aim is both to ensure the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN-CRC) becomes widely known in German and promote its implementation. The legal entity of the National Coalition is the Child and Youth Welfare Association (AGJ). The NC fosters and supports the rights and needs of all children and young people living in Germany in line with the standards expressed in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The National Coalition is currently under the patronage of Dr. h.c. Wolfgang Thierse, deputy Bundestag president. The legal entity of the National Coalition is the Child and Youth Welfare Association (AGJ). The NC’s work involves tackling any issues related to these tasks and goals, and evolving clear positions on them to be presented in the public and political arenas.
