The National Authority for Children and Adolescents potects and promotes the rights of children and adolescents according to the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and other international Conventions. The Authority has various functions, among which: cooperating with national and international bodies and organisations for the promotion and the full protection of the rights of children and adolescents; ensuring equal opportunities of access to health and education services; formulating recommendations and advice on the national plan for childhood; informing other competent authorities/bodies of critical situations concerning children and adolescents; examining and investigating of complaints; undertaking of research and policy activities;chairing the Conference of regional Ombudsman for children etc.
