EKAMA Development Foundation is a women's and children's rights organisation working in Tanzania. EKAMA's mission is to facilitate empowerment processes to enable women and children to voice their concerns and create their own movements and platforms for the realization of their rights. EKAMA follows a rights-based approach to empowerment. We believe that women and children can be fundamental players in bringing about social and economic change if their power is unleashed through capacity building, research, advocacy and information sharing. EKAMA therefore engages in capacity building of both duty bearers and claim holders on social, economic and political rights, policy and legal research, and advocacy on the local and national level with an emphasis on gender equality.
