Children's Rights Centre: Cape Breton University

1. To further public knowledge and education about children's rights.
2. To conduct research on issues related to children's rights.
3. To monitor the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in Canada, and particularly in Nova Scotia.
4. To answer public inquiries about children's rights.
The focus of the Children's Rights Centre is education in children's rights. This includes the development and evaluation of rights education materials and research on the impact of learning about the Convention.
Our Centre provides workshops to teachers, justice officials, and community groups to educate professionals about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and how to work with and for children using a rights-based framework.
