VIOLENCE: National Strategy to Prevent Corporal Punishment - Children consulted in the process

Summary: Children feel that the most effective way of reducing corporal punishment is to help parents with their problems. A survey of children carried out by the Office of the Ombudsman for children also shows that it is important to increase children's confidence in services and the adults who provide them. Children were consulted when a committee prepared a national strategy to prevent and diminish the use of corporal punishment in Finland.
