UNICEF selection of children for Junior 8

While the Concerned for Working Children (CWC) strongly advocate for the right of children to be heard they are disturbed by certain sentences regarding the selection process of the two children from Batswana for the J8. The announcement says that the children were selected by UNICEF. It also mentions that the young person believes "She believes she was the best candidate to be selected to represent the children of Batswana and to speak on behalf of children the world over". The CWC believe child representatives should be chosen by children themselves. Hand picking children is a practice that invalidates children's Right to Representation.
