RUSSIA: More exams scheduled to coincide with protest marches

Summary: This is the second compulsory exam apparently set up to prevent young people from taking part in protest marches.

[16 dDecember 2011] - School authorities have scheduled mathematics tests for Moscow’s school children on December 17 and 24. Individual schools will choose one of the two dates for their pupils to sit the exam.

The tests coincide with various opposition rally dates, RIA Novosti reported on Friday.

Opposition party Yabloko has planned a protest for December 17, while a second elections results rally is planned to December 24 as are various other protests.

On the eve of December 10's election results protest, school authorities announced a Russian-language exam for the following day.
