India: Launching of Human Rights Education in U.P. School

Summary: A launching ceremony was organised by RARE, Sonepur at Netaji U.P. School, Sagarpali to introduce the Human Rights Education in Primary School on 9th January, 2006. The meeting was presided by the Headmaster of the School Sri Bharat Sahu. Sri Ghasiram Panda, Joint Secretary of Research Academy for Rural Enrichment (RARE) attended the launching ceremony and discuss about the need of Human Right Education at School level.

Also Sri Magasira Meher, President of the school, Purandar Meher, Secretary of the school, Sri Arjun Samantaray, Pravasini Mishra, Assistant Teacher, Manish Kumar Panda, Assistant Teacher of Gangadhar High School, Sagarpali attended the meeting.

Over the meeting an Oriya book named "MANABIKA ADHIKAR SIKSHYA- EKA PARICHAYA" (An introduction to Human Right Education) was distributed to the students of class 6th.

It is to be mentioned here that RARE will launch Human Rights Education programme in two Upper Primary School i.e. Netaji U.P. School, Sagarpali and Sargunamunda U.P. School, Sargunamunda of Sonepur Block, district Subarnpur
