Human Rights Council: Joint Statement on sexual exploitation and child pornography
Summary: Statement delivered by the World YWCA, the World Alliance of YMCAs, UN Watch and the Women's World Summit Foundation (WWSF).
Declaring that "over 2 million children are exploited in the multibillion-dollar sex industry each year, and 1.2 million children trafficked annually", the World YWCA, the World Alliance of YMCAs, UN Watch and the Women's World Summit Foundation (WWSF) call for urgent action to end violence against children and bring offenders to justice through the following key recommendations of their statement:

there should be no limitation period to bring child abusers to justice

national justice systems must apply the UN definition of a child

ensure that children have knowldge and understanding of their basic human rights

enhance the international cooperation among police forces against child pornography and trafficking of children for sxual exploitation.
