[Cairo- 24 November 2008] A new portal on children in Egypt named the "Right to Know” has been designed and is expected to be launched in January in both Arabic and English.
The objectives of the portal are to:
• Provide an Internet-based knowledge platform
• Provide easily accessible information
• Map innovative practices
• Present state-of-the-art research
• Promote multi-stakeholder partnerships for action
• Create a network of expertise
The Right to Know portal will be managed through an executive board chaired by the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, and including the IDSC and UNICEF; management team made up of coordinators from the three institutions; in addition to an Independent advisory board comprising renowned academics and critical government, civil society and international cooperation engaged in the field of child rights.
A briefing about the portal was made for organizations to send their recommendations for further venues of cooperation.
