Why do you want to serve on the CRC?

As a member of the UN Committee on the rights of the child, I am eager to contribute towards enforcement mechanisms of international law on child protection. I plan to work in the following areas: the study of state reports on the rights of children and the imposition of the concluding observations, coordination of international cooperation to provide technical assistance to States, the elaboration of General comments to the Convention, conducting research on issues relating to the rights of the child (thematic discussions, suggestions to the UN Secretary General on research, informal regional meetings).

What do you see as important emerging child rights issues that you believe the Committee should be addressing?

One of the main difficulties in the implementation of the UN Convention on the rights of the child in the participants' countries may be the following:
1) State bodies have a lack of professional competency to promote the concluding observations of the UN Committee on the rights of the child at national level.
2) A lack of political mechanisms at national level impede smooth integration and mainstreaming of recommendations of the UN Committee on the rights of the child in policy development framework.
3) Lack of economic resources complicates implementation of socio-economic rights of children, for example, ratification of UN Convention on the rights of people with disabilities.
