Additionally, technical advisor on the development and enactment of legislation and public policy for the effective protection of the rights of children and adolescents.

1. Why do you want to serve on the CRC?

I have full knowledge and respect for the CRC´s mandate and work. I am motivated by the CRC’s good standing globally in providing States and societies across regions with technical advice for better compliance of their role as duty-bearers of children and adolescent rights in their territories. I recognise the SDGs as a unique opportunity to summon and guide States towards placing children's best interests at the core of their roadmaps for realization of the 2030 Agenda. Always building upon full awareness of cultural differences between societies; with a standing against all forms of discrimination; and considering children and families as the makers of fairer, safer, more prosperous and more inclusive societies, for the new generations of today and tomorrow. I am eager to serve the CRC in this work.

2. What do you see as important emerging child rights issues that you believe the Committee should be addressing?

  • The effective legal and administrative protection, up to 18 years of age, with NO discrimination for children and adolescents in migration/displacement contexts, and/or living in territories with presence of organized crime associated to drugs, arms and trafficking persons/sexual exploitation.
  •  Childhood and adolescence relationship with the digital ecosystem. Maximizing opportunities and minimizing the risks related with the complex interaction of children and adolescents with the digital technologies. This from a digital citizenship approach and with significant and sustained involvement of key parties within the State and private technology sectors.
