CHILD PROTECTION: New online resource for organisations to check if they are doing all they can to keep children safe

Keeping Children Safe has just released an easy to use online self-audit to determine an organisations strengths and weaknesses in keeping children safe. By completing the short, 30-minute self-audit organisations can measure how far (or near) they are from meeting standards on making children safe, and where they need to improve.

Every organisation needs to think about the implications of their work and make sure they are not putting children at risk of abuse. The tool is based on the four international child safeguarding standards and looks at: Policy, People, Procedures and Accountability.

For each area there are six statements and organisations need to decide whether they have measures in place, partially or not at all.  Traffic light coding produces a simple graphic for organisations to understand where they have gaps. Once complete using the Keeping Children Safe standards and how to implement will help organisations implement measures to meet any gaps they have in safeguarding children.

The resource is available in English, French and Spanish.
