Yokohama Congress - The Second World Congress Against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children

Summary: This event takes place in Yokohama.
This is a follow-up meeting to the
Stockholm Conference in 1996.

Objectives of the Congress include
enhancing political commitment to
the Agenda for Action adopted at
First World Congress; reviewing
progress; sharing expertise and
good practices; identifying main
problem areas and/or gaps.

Conference on Commercial Child Sexual Exploitation, December
(Yokohama): this follow-up event to the Stockholm Conference in
1996 will be held in Japan in December, hosted by the
Government of Japan and co-hosted by UNICEF; the Focal Point
on Sexual Exploitation of Children for the NGO Group for the
Convention on the Rights of the Child and ECPAT.


First discussions by the information group on the conference
were held in New York on the 8-9 February.

There will be a European Preparatory Consultation for the
Yokohama Conference, to be held in Hungary at the end of
October, organized by the Council of Europe.
