Tackling Worst Forms of Child Labour in Agriculture

Summary: This one-week course examines the worst forms of child labour in agriculture with a special emphasis on hazardous child labour. Participants will learn about concepts and terminology related to child labour, its worst forms in the agricultural sector, and the main means and actions to combat its worst forms at the national, regional and global level.

Target participants include: Government representatives such as policy-makers, government officers, programme managers and others charged with formulating and implementing policies and programmes against child labour; representatives of workers and employers' organisations charged with policy-making, advising and acting on child labour issues; international agricultural organisations; national agricultural organisations; Ministries of agriculture, agricultural extension advisory servicve staff, agricultural research staff, agronomists etc; OSH specialists; Labour inspectors; representatives of NGOs and civil society organisations working in the field of child labour and agriculture; and representatives of agricultural intergovernmental and international agencies and organisations, as well as ILO-IPEC officers and project staff.
