Sex tourism involving children: prevention, protection, prohibition and care for victims

OBJECTIVES
This seminar aims to:
• provide a forum for discussion and exchange for concerned stakeholders, to open the debate on the impact of sex tourism involving children, to understand the obligations and responsibilities of States and those of actors within the private sector,
• identify tools, best practices and models through the exchange of practical experiences between international organizations, NGOs, UN agencies, government officials and private industry, with the aim of improving the protection of children’s rights in this context,
• identify possible synergies between the various stakeholders and identify possible actions to take in the short, medium and long term.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
Representatives of State parties, members of parliament, stakeholders in the tourism sector, members of NGOs which are active in this field, UN agencies, economists, social workers, sociologists, lawyers, psychologists, researchers and students. All other people concerned by this topic as well as the media are welcome!
