Safeguarding Children: an Introduction to Child Trafficking

Safeguarding Children: an Introduction to Child Trafficking: one-day course: 9.30am to 4.30pm

Thursday 30th May 2013

The ECPAT UK National Training Centre in Victoria, central London, offers a comprehensive training programme that supports and develops good practice in safeguarding children at an affordable cost. Training is based on up-to-date research and evidence, such as case law, the experiences of children, government guidance and legislation. ECPAT UK is a registered charity that is active in research, campaigning and lobbying government to prevent child exploitation and protect children in tourism and child victims of trafficking. We work with child victims of trafficking who help inform our training for professionals.

Cost per participant £80
(Price includes refreshments and a sandwich/light buffet lunch, together with event materials)

This is an introductory course and is aimed at those in regular contact with children and young people including: social care, education and health professionals; foster carers and residential staff; police and Youth Offending Teams; housing; UK Borders Agency; Trading Standards and Environmental Health; and volunteers. The course will give participants basic knowledge of the issues surrounding children who may have been trafficked, into and within the UK. Participants will gain a better understanding of how to identify, protect and support child victims of trafficking.
