NGO consultation on the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children

The Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children is inviting civil society organisations to take part in a consultation process aimed to inform and shape the Partnership’s five-year strategy.

    Setting the agenda

This strategy explains the plan to prevent and respond to the issue of violence against children with the aim of establishing violence prevention as a policy priority within a growing number of countries and globally.

Violence against children was excluded from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) - an omission rectified by Target 16.2 of the Sustainable Development Goals, which calls for an end to abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence and torture against children.

But targets to uphold children’s right to live a life free from violence will be meaningless unless they are followed by a commitment to invest in policies on violence prevention. The Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children will work with countries to help turn their commitments into action.

    The survey

The consultation is eliciting comments on its draft strategy - available in EnglishFrench and Spanish - which sets out the direction of the Partnership's upcoming efforts.

These include building political will to end violence against children (VAC), working with countries to speed up policies and action, helping countries work together, and ultimately building a global movement fighting to end VAC.

Feedback will be used to strengthen the Partnership’s design ahead of its formal launch in July 2016.

An online survey is available in EnglishFrench and Spanish

The deadline for submitting feedback is 15 March 2016.

Any questions on the overall consultation process can be directed to [email protected]

For any questions on the civil society questionnaire specifically, email [email protected]
