Universal Birth Registration - a Universal Responsibility

Summary: No records exist of the birth of six out of every
ten babies born annually in South Asia. In sub-
Saharan Africa, 55 per cent of all births go
unrecorded every year. Best estimates of
unrecorded births put the number at more
than half a billion.
