The Understanding Children’s Work (UCW) Project website was re-launched yesterday to coincide with the World Day against Child Labour on Monday 12 June. UCW is an inter-agency research initiative on child labour involving the International Labour Organisation, UNICEF and the World Bank. The UCW Project is aimed at improving information and research capacity in the area of child labour through a variety of data collection, research and assessment activities. Guided by the Oslo Agenda for Action, unanimously adopted at the 1997 International Conference on Child Labour, the Project also promotes stronger co-operation and information sharing amongst international agencies involved in combating child labour. The website interface has been thoroughly restructured with a view to improving user access to the range of information resources posted. The organisation and presentation this information in our website, through the interactive map and other means. There are three new website sections which will be updated regularly: a monthly "Topic in Focus", "UCW Project News" and "Other Child Labour News".
