Summary: Information about institutions in Tuvalu that monitor children's rights.
Children's Ombudsperson As of the State's 2013 report to the Committee on the Rights of the Child, there was no independent monitoring body mandated to investigate and provide redress for violations of the rights of children. The Committee urged the State to “establish an independent and effective national human rights institution, which is mandated to handle complaints particularly relating to the violation of the rights of the child, in full compliance with the Paris Principles”. The Committee also highlighted the fact that the State had agreed to establish such an institution under the Universal Periodic Review in 2008 and 2013.
